- Remove access covers and isolate electric supply. Brush clean covers, condenser coil fins, condenser fan motor and blades.
- Check and tighten all electrical connections in isolator, unit junction box (including contactor contacts) and compressor terminal box. Pay attention to compressor push-on terminals.
- Visually check all pipes and joints for signs of leaks or vibration damage. Especially where suction and liquid lines pass through the side of unit casing.
- Check operation of crankcase heater (if fitted). NOTE: Crankcase heater may only operate when compressor has stopped if it is wired from auxiliary contacts on compressor contactor.
- If condenser fan speed controller is fitted, check for correct operation.
- Measure run current of compressor with amp probe.
- Check for undue noise and vibration of compressor, pipework and fan motor and remedy if possible. Oil or grease fan bearings if necessary.
- Check that suction and liquid line pipework and armaflex runs from Condenser unit to indoor unit where accessible.
- Refit and secure unit cover and clean unit exterior.
- Also, check on condition of insulation.
- Report any unusual operating conditions or measurement.
